Spring rhododendron's are showing up all around now, giving me yet another flower to watercolor in my sketchbook.

I love Rhododendrums, but unfortunately, they do not grow in Colorado...our soil is too alkaline. Your sketch is wonderful, this would make a lovely card too.
ReplyDeletebeautiful watercolor! Great work Nancy :)
ReplyDeleteCynthia, I guess I just assumed that Rhody's grew everywhere. Oregon and Washington have huge gardens of them. I take the beauty for granted ... We have a small yard and have 9 of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ester. I'm trying to do more sketching in my sketch book - with watercolor... always a challenge with the poor quality of paper... but soon I'll complete it and be starting one more conducive to water. Yea!
BEAUTIFUL rhodos, Nancy --!! Such a delicate watercolor touch to them!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful variations of color make the flowers come to life and off the page.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Wonderful colors and forms.
ReplyDeleteYou do beautiful flower paintings Nancy...I love the lavender iris you did a while ago and these rhododendrons have wonderful color and shape. Your handling of watercolor is as lovely!
