About Me

I didn't set out to be an artist. It just evolved over time. It started out innocently enough, first buying a sketchbook and a few pencils and after a few years that led me to a watercolor class. By then I was hooked .... hook, line and sinker as they say. And then many years later after reading Winston Churchill's small book Painting as a Pastime I felt myself being drawn to oil painting. Churchill described oil painting with inspiring words that drew me in. I couldn't wait to squeeze a tube of juicy oils onto my palette after I read: "I write no words in disparagement of water-colours but there really is nothing like oils, you have a medium at your disposal which offers real power if you only find out how to use it."
Now I find the more I learn about oil painting the more I realize how little I know and how much more I need to learn.

My main inspiration in my work is to paint the essence of the beautiful pacific northwest scenes that surround me and share them with others.

I'm excited to share my love for both the northwest and my love of oil painting with you.

I invite you to come along on my journey as I keep learning.
