Sketchbook Sailboat

Sailboat in Marina - sketchbook
I think this summer will be a time for enjoying sketching and exploring water and reflections. I have two books on the subject of painting water and I will be trying a few of the demo's in both Lakes and Rivers , and Painting Water where I will try to capture some of the scenes around me.

  1. I'm also planning on some "water" paintings - I've got some photos to use and am also rummaging through my books for ideas. I'll be looking forward to seeing your "water" paintings soon!

  3. I like this one. It's got a nice easy feel to it. Not over done or studied ... a light touch.

  4. Hey Deb, looks like great minds do think alike huh? I think I'll try working from life as much as possible, but I'm a little worried about how these may turn out, *wink.

Thank you Faye. I think this should be a fun summer challenge .. and I'm gunna try to put no pressure on myself, just try to enjoy.

Oh Helen, thank you. Thats what I'm trying to achieve in my work lately. The not over done part.

  6. Come along Gaylynn. I'm sure the owners would be fine with you as a passenger. *smile

  7. Ah, water. An admirable quest, Nancy, just don't fall in! (I once fell into the Guadalupe River, while I was 'shooting' reflections. Yes, there were other people around. Tourists. ~ sigh ~)

A big congratulations on your recent award. I do love your beautiful birds!

  9. Thank you WJ and Casey. As you might imagine, I've been pulled away from my water series, but I haven't given up. I've got one particular painting/sketch that I've had my hopes of working on soon.
