Winter Snowfall

Winter Snowfall-Nancy Van Blaricom Winter Snowfall 3" x 4" Arches Watercolor Paper

After receiving snow the night before we were happy to see sun shining on the newly fallen snow as we took our daily two mile walk.
I'm trying to get into the habit of sketching with my watercolors. This was done on some Arches 140 lb. coldpress watercolor paper I had taped to a piece of foam-core earlier last year. I'm pretty stingy with my paper, never wanting to waste even a small piece.

  1. no you are not stingy. I save every little bit myself.
you watercolor sketch is awesome so don't throw out those bits of papers.
you can make a book out of all your watercolor sketches on scraps. It would be awesome.

  2. Lovely little sketch. Definetly worth the effort in the cold.I'm looking forward to more.
I don't waste any paper either. In fact that's part of my technique.I rip up all my old paintings and the scraps are the base of all my mixed media/collage surfaces. Why throw away all that effort?Sometimes that liitle corner of color is just the missing piece I need.
ps ..thanks for all your visits to my blog.

  8. ps
I forgot to say--I often use the back sides of paintings, and never throw any out--sometimes I'll use the tiniest scraps and make name card place settings with them. I hate to throw these beautiful papers out, so I can relate!
