  3. I really LOVE the fabulous job you do on these birds, Nancy! There's a look about each of them that is not only characteristic of the bird itself, but that "AWWWWW" quality that is so appealing!

  4. Thank you Toni. This is my firs series and it has only inspired me to try more. I'm enjoying the small format size and when they are framed all in similar frames they look pretty good.

Hi Helen, thank you. I can pick it apart, but think I'll just move on and accept your great comment. *wink.

Thank you Lin. It has been a great deal of fun to see if I can't come up with some rendition of something that 'looks' like a bird. Each painting has its challenges and rewards. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. He's adorable, Nancy! His chubby, little body is perfectly suited to the small, square format.

    Beautifully done!

There's a woodpecker up the light pole that's waking me at dawn. Shall I send him to you? You can immortalize him before I do something more drastic!

  6. The texture on that painting is incredible. It makes me want to touch those soft feathers.
Great idea for a series - are they all the same format?

  10. Thanks W.J, Casey, Laura, Fennymun and Linda. I have at least one more bird I'm really interested in painting ... but it will have to wait.... Christmas is sneeking up on me too fast.

  11. Oh I love sandpipers and could watch them forever. I am a new visitor to your blog, but am guessing you see them a lot in your locale - ah, Pacific NW island life - perfect! Beautiful work.
