Completed - Foggy Island Bridge

Foggy Island Bridge-Nancy Van BlaricomSOLD Foggy Island Bridge 22" x 30" watercolor

Finally .... after thinking about this scene for such a long time, I've completed this full sheet watercolor.

Scenes such as this, with the fog and the green trees, are pretty typical of the Pacific Northwest. When I'm out and about seeing these types of landscapes, they almost take my breath away. I wouldn't want to live any where else.

  1. Wow, it's beautiful. Completely different from how I work. I like one sitting and small (cause of a rotator cuff problem as you know). The colors are great and so is the mood. The way the white signs pop is just perfect. The method doesn't really matter, it's the result and how it makes us feel.

  2. Really beautiful, Nancy. It's been a long time since I've been in your part of the country, but this painting really brings back some memories of those past trips.

  8. Hi Joyce. I love working little. I hardly ever work large - maybe that's why it took me so long to finish this one. I think it was nice to get out of my comfort zone for a change.

Thank you Joe for stopping by. I ejoyed working on this one even though my head is wrapped around oil painting lately. I have come to the conclusion that every state has its beauty. You've shown me that in your beautiful work.

  9. Lin, thank you so much for your compliments.

Victoria, I bet you are ready to go home aren't you? The fog can beckon you can't it.

Thanks Maeona, even though I won numerous awards there it makes me wonder how that happened. Thank you for the compliment, I want so much to continue to grow in my art with each painting.

  10. Toni, thank you for the kind words on this painting. I do so love the Pacific NW and hope to show that with each landscape I continue to attempt. I think with each painting I learn more about what I really want to share with my work.

Thanks Ronell for dropping by and the nice compliments. I did enjoy painting this one and need to continue along the same path - landscapes/waterscapes etc.
